  • The Arbor Team Eyes Springfield

    In conjunction with the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (ISEPS), several members of the Arbor Team went to Springfield, Illinois to advocate for our patients and our profession and to perform a vision screening at the State Capitol. This annual event attracts our State leaders who come to learn more about eye health, the resources ophthalmologists can provide, and even get their eyes examined! Our team had the chance to meet with Governor Rauner, legislators and lobbyists to discuss issues important to our profession and the care of our patients.
  • New office space opened in our Homewood location

    We proudly announce the opening of new office space at our Homewood location. Arbor’s new location on the first floor is an expansion of our current space in the same building, allowing us to provide more efficient care for our patients.   • Dr. Neha Sangal reports on charity work in India

    Dr. Neha Sangal and a team of surgeons operated on 150 patients in India this month. Dr. Sangal reports: “It was a truly amazing experience!” We spent 6 days at the Icare Hospital in Noida which is a suburb of Delhi. Over 1,000 patients were screened and approximately 720 patients were found to have visually significant cataracts. Our team of surgeons operated on 150 of those patients helping to restore their sight.
  • Dr. Albanis named Chairperson of Ophthalmology at Advocate Christ Medical Center

    Dr. Albanis begins her term as Chairperson of the Department of Ophthalmology at Advocate Christ Medical Center (ACMC). In her role, she will help lead the department of ophthalmology in efforts related to the eye care patients receive while at ACMC. “I am honored to serve in this role, especially as the hospital continues to grow and expand its facilities to better attend to the needs of our patients.”

  • Welcome Drs. Sangal, Vira and Iyengar

    Arbor welcomes 3 doctors to the Arbor Team! Dr. Neha Sangal joins our glaucoma service and Dr. Samir Vira joins the cornea, cataract and refractive team. We welcome back Dr. Neha Iyengar as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. As always, Arbor works hard to recruit doctors who provide the best possible medical and surgical eye care for each patient.     Dr. Lubeck and his patient are featured in an article outlining the condition of Fuchs' Dystrophy. A loss of vision can be frightening and bewildering, but a visit to an eye care professional is the first step to treating eye conditions and preserving sight.

    Someone experiencing this may ask, “Why me?” For some people, decreasing or absent vision may be a result of an uncommon disease known as Fuchs’ dystrophy, a syndrome in which the cells lining the inner surface of the cornea gradually expire.
