• Dr. Albanis welcomes the incoming University of Chicago Pritzker Medical School student

    Dr. Albanis welcomed the first year University of Chicago medical school students to the University in August 2013. As a former student of the medical school, current faculty member, and member of the Alumni Senate, Dr. Albanis stressed the importance of collegiality and learning from each other to become better healers. She also welcomed family members and friends of the incoming class, recognize the critical importance of their support for their doctor in training. Dr.

  • Arbor doctors add an exciting technology for the treatment of glaucoma

    A team of Arbor doctors is one of the first in Chicago and Illinois to offer a unique surgery to our patients for the treatment of glaucoma in combination with cataract surgery. The iStent® ( is a micro-implant, placed in the eye during cataract surgery to increase and improve fluid outflow and decrease eye pressure. For many patients, fewer or no glaucoma drops will be needed following iStent® insertion.

    There are not enough words to define our Barb S.  She has worked at Arbor Centers for EyeCare since December 1998 and will be retiring on May 24, 2013.  That’s a lot of bending, stretching, and chart pulling over 15 years.

    During the month of March our very own Dr.Lubeck traveled to Australia to share his knowledge. He lectured on advancement in cataract surgery, advanced technology lens choices and the newest laser assisted cataract surgery. Dr. Lubeck spoke in the Australian Cities of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and in Auckland, New Zealand.

  • The Arbor Team Heads to Springfield

    In conjunction with the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology (IAO), several members of the Arbor Team went to Springfield, Illinois to advocate for our patients and our profession and to perform a vision screening at the State Capitol.
