
Marianne Feitl, MD
Specialist in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Glaucoma
Marianne Feitl, M.D. specializes in the medical and laser treatment of glaucoma. She joined Arbor Centers for EyeCare in 2005 to help in the compassionate care of our glaucoma patients. Dr. Feitl prides herself in providing outstanding patient care through listening to the needs of the patient and their family, and creating a treatment plan that optimizes the desires of each patient.
Dr. Feitl is a native to the Chicago area and is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She did her ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis and fellowship training in glaucoma in Philadelphia at the Scheie Eye Institute and the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Feitl continued to work at Scheie Eye Institute prior to working for several years at Geisinger Medical Center in central Pennsylvania.
As a renowned glaucoma specialist, she was recruited as the head of the Glaucoma Service of the Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Chicago where she taught residents and medical school students for many years. Her former residents describe her as “caring” and one who “goes above and beyond” in trying to help patients learn about and understand their diagnosis of glaucoma.
Dr. Feitl continues to teach her colleagues advanced glaucoma surgery at the annual American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting. In addition to caring for her patients, Dr. Feitl enjoys spending time with her husband and two Labrador retrievers, loves chocolate, and enjoys traveling.
