In conjunction with the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (ISEPS), several members of the Arbor Team went to Springfield, Illinois to advocate for our patients and our profession and to perform a vision screening at the State Capitol. This annual event attracts our State leaders who come to learn more about eye health, the resources ophthalmologists can provide, and even get their eyes examined! Our team had the chance to meet with Governor Rauner, legislators and lobbyists to discuss issues important to our profession and the care of our patients. This year the team helped lobby for the “early eye drop refill” bill allowing patients requiring chronic eye drop use the opportunity to refill their drops early if they run out.
